Maternity leave changes at my job!

I just got an email from our HR dept. They have enhanced the parenting leave policy from 13 to 16 weeks paid at 100% (paid pregnancy leave) and from 8 to 10 weeks (child care leave) to care for the same child, not paid but job protected and can use vaca or sick days. So ultimately 26 weeks. Yay for everyone having a baby after Jan 2017 lol I'm due Nov 7th! My husband asked if I could wait to have him till Jan...of course he was just playing. But good to know they are giving us mothers longer time to be with our newborns. Still no where compared to the U.K. or Canada but it's a start! I live in Texas.
