ER or labor and delivery?

I'm 26 weeks and after a few hours of consistent contractions my on call doc advised going to the hospital. Do I go to the ER or Labor and Delivery?

I would say L&D. They can immediately hookup and start monitoring you, etc.

After 24 weeks where I live you always have to go to L&D and to the hospitals where your dr delivers.

I heard after 14 weeks you have to go to labor and delivery. I love labor and delivery ive only gone once due to a really bad migraine i had about a month ago they took care of me real good got rid of my headache within an hour checked babies. I had gone to ER 3 times and they couldnt fix my headache they would just send me home w benadryl :(... I dont trust ER w my pregnancy anymore and at one ER they said after 14 weeks go to hospital not ER

In florida if youre over 20 weeks u go to L&D. Anything under that obviously goes to ER

People usually go through er if it's late at night and they will direct you to l&d. But I think most places after 20 weeks, you go to l&d.
