Contractions?

Question

Is this contractions? I'm getting worried now. I saw one of my doctors last Wednesday and everything seemed to be fine with baby. Fast forward to Monday (or was it Tuesday? I don't remember) and right as I was leaving work for the day I started getting severe pain in my uterus. It felt like period cramps but worse. It lasted for nearly an hour before it went away. Before this I was feeling my baby pretty consistently (which I hear is rare being a first time mom and only 17+5 as of today). But I've been feeling him/her since about 14 plus some. Now I don't think I've felt him/her at all since this happened and I basically don't feel pregnant at all. Just my usual tired. I would call my doctors if they would take me seriously, but honestly they don't. All of my appointments so far have been about 10 minutes even though I have questions I've wanted to ask. I don't know if anything is wrong or if all of this is normal. And btw I did get a flu shot at my last appointment so I don't know if it has anything to do with that or not.

It is possible that you are having round ligament pain. I experienced this during the beginning of my second and it was unbearable. It had me totally freaked out until I finally asked my doctor. She reassured me it was normal and I could apply heat compresses or take a warm bath.
It isn't uncommon to go a while without feeling movement, so early on in your pregnancy. I didn't feel movement until 20 weeks and there were many days I would go hours without feeling anything, might feel a flutter, then nothing again.

What worries me is that your doctor seems to be unavailable to you. You should be 100% comfortable with asking questions and you should be 100% confident their answers are sufficient. You need to address this promptly at your next appointment. There is absolutely nothing wrong with reminding your doctor that while they may hear a question 100x a day it doesn't make it any less important.

I have had to stop my doctor from rushing through an appointment and she realized pretty quickly I meant business. When she saw my frustration, she got comfortable and answered them with more patience.

I would definitely call your doctor!!! If you can't feel baby move something could be wrong
