cervical position and mucus

How can you tell the position of your cervix/if it's open or closed? I googled it and honestly I'm still confused. Mine doesn't really feel open, or closed, if that makes sense...and how high up is high?! Lol. As for cm I swear I feel like I never have any. I've been checking it for several days and it's just very light and watery. I've never had so much that it was clumped up on toilet paper or my finger like in all the pictures on here. Im not really sure if I'm just going about it wrong or if I just simply have less cm and a more difficult cervix 😂
