Doc recommended BC for 90 days to get pregnant.

Has anyone else been given the recommendation to try birth control to regulate your cycle in order to try and get pregnant? I have gone through testing to determine if my tubes are open (they are) and they say I ovulate even though my circles would range anywhere from 23-54 days. My cycles have since regulated to 30-36 days, but I decided to try the BC anyway. Has this worked for anyone? I feel like it's only going to confuse my body even more when I stop taking it.
