This has to be a joke right? I mean, what would be a safe costume to wear? A wizard? Nope, magic is the work of the devil. A skeleton? Nope, it promotes eating disorders. A freaking egg mcmuffin? Nope, it encourages childhood obesity.

Native American costumes shouldn't exist, point blank period. It's not admiration. It's caricature and appropriation, learn the difference. I'm so tired of people thinking that mimicking a culture that you find in the moment to be "cool" or costume worthy is okay, just because you personally aren't affected by it. Plenty of Native Americans are struggling to exist in our country, through massive poverty, discrimination and mistreatment at the hand of our government and they wouldn't appreciate non-natives dressing themselves and their children up in what's perceived to be their traditional garb, for "fun." You wanna admire a people, be a damn mermaid or something. Not people that actually currently exist.

I'm pretty much in agreement with this meme. If your kid's costume is racist or objectifying, they shouldn't be wearing it and I don't want to see it--but then, I don't pass out candy to trick or treaters, either, so I don't really care. At all.

tbh the other costumes are fine, but native american costumes shoud not be a thing, not even funny. its straight up appropriation, its using people's culture as a prop and a toy.
