So I found a song from back when I was in kindergarten. It's called alligators all around  (if you know it) and its an alphabet song. Now I totally want to use that song to teach her her alphabet but there's a line in the song " I: imitating indians" which is super racist and the video shows the alligator with a feather headress and whooping. So I wondered if it would be a bad idea to actually teach her it

The way i see it, if you turned  out right and understanding there should be no harm. 
As long as he/she gets older  you teach them values and understanding  of cultures.

Why is an alligator dressed as a Native American Indian, with a feather & whooping "super racist", if that is in fact, things that are part of the culture? Not to sound rude, because I am genuinely curious.

It should be fine as long as you teach her never to repeat it.
There's an Australian kids song called "Kookaburra" and there was a line that was "gay your life must be", but now too many people are complaining because gay now has a second meaning, but in context, it means happy. It's been changed to "happy you life must be"

Yes, the line is racist.

If you are okay taking part in racism and condoning the stereotypes that it perpetuates about indigenous people, then go for it.

If you would prefer not to take part in racist behavior, you should change the lyrics or not teach her the song.  I think it's a great opportunity for education about why the part of he song is problematic and why it is harmful to indigenous peoples.

My adoptive dad is Native American, so I'm by default a part of the Shawnee tribe (one of the greatest chiefs of our tribe was white and adopted long ago!). I'm proud of my heritage. I honestly do think it's a little bit racist, but that's just me.

Would you be embarrassed if she sang it in public and other people overheard you? Would you be prepared for confrontation or mean comments if someone were to be offended?

Since it's culturally questionable I'd just update the words. Like the song "1 little 2 little 3 little indians"....there are so many new ways people sing it like using "dinosaurs" or "penguins."

Plus It'd be more relevant to your child's interests this day in age. How many kids still play cowboys and Indians? Here in California, I think it's gotta be 0%...
