Period? Confused

Period came 2nd october and lasted until the 5th. Was brownish/red colour and was hardly anything, hardly on the pad and half filling a tampon. This is after being 8 days past my period due day. Unusual to me as i havnt had this before. Have had unprotected sex but done 2 tests on the 2st October but negative. Please help!!
