38w 4d - crampy and 3cm dilated - is it about to happen?!

Question

Have been really crampy and lots of back aches for the past 2-3 days. Discharge has had a slightly pink tinge. Dr checked and I am already 3cm dilated! Still crampy and achey. Can it stay like this for a while or should I expect to go into labor soon?

Well that was fast! After coming home from my appt I started having contractions - nothing crazy until later in the evening. Started tracking them at around 11 but they were always in the 5 to 7 minute range. Doctor said we could come in if we wanted an epidural but I wasn't sure so we ended up staying for another 2.5hrs. Got to the hospital at 5am and was already 8cm. Within an hour we were at 10cm and started pushing for about 20/25 minutes (second guessing my decision not to get an epidural the entire time). Nathan Henry arrived 9 days early weighing 7lbs 6oz and almost 22in long! He is so perfect - we're so in love!

I've been at 3cm since 36 weeks..I'm almost 38 weeks now. It's so frustrating. I have contractions 7-8 mins apart but the doc wants to wait until my contractions r unbearable or my water breaks. Been walking, squatting, exercising, raspberry leaf tea and spicy food but nothing works to get things going😥

Are you FTM? I just left my weekly appt and she said that for FTM you could get up to 4cm and stay that way for a while(days/weeks)  :( she said after the 4 it's generally a lot quicker as that's then considered active labor. Hopefully it happens for you soon. I'm only 1cm so you're farther than me haha.

Ah okay that makes me feel better! I still need to scrub my house clean and do about a zillion loads of laundry but it's not easy when you're so crampy and just want to lay down! Really want him to stay in just a few more days so I can get settled...

I'm due today, I've been 3cm 90% effaced since last Wednesday with off and on contractions, cramping, pain, etc. Even went in for a false alarm, that's how intense it's been. Still no baby. Early labour can last a while
