So I had mild contractions on and off starting around 2pm on the 13th

So I had mild contractions on and off starting around 2pm on the 13th. Took my other two boys to football practice and returned home around 8:30pm. We all had a snack and the boys went to bed, while I continued to have mild pains here and there. I wasn't even timing them. Side note (all day I kept noticing shedding of tissue which I thought was just the mucus plug coming out in little pieces). At 9:30pm my husband and I went to bed. As we literally got in bed a said goodnight to each other my water broke. So we got up and called my parents to come get the boys, got ready, grabbed everything for the hospital and waited for them to arrive. Made it to the hospital by 10:20pm and stayed in the er for an hour. They checked me and I was 3 centimeters. At midnight we finally were admitted and got a room. I started having contractions back to back. I asked for an epidural and it took a half hour to get an IV, fluids and the doctor to come give it to me. As they sat me up to get the epidural I felt crazy pressure. Tried to get through the pain but I felt i had to push. Told the nurse and she was going to let me still get the meds since she didn't think I had moved from 3 to 9 centimeters in a little over an hour. But on the next contractions it was over, I had to push. I told the doctor he's here you have to stop trying to place my epidural. I threw myself backward on the bed and tore off the pad they had given me to get to the room so I wouldn't leak everywhere. His head was already out. Thank God the nurse moved fast and caught the baby. But he was here. A little over 3 hours from start to finish my baby was born at 12:53am on Oct 14th. Weighs 6 pounds 15 ounces and is 20 inches long.
