Mom wants me to hide it?

Anyone else on the younger side of the spectrum who's parents want them to keep their pregnancy secret? My mom doesn't want me making any announcements basically until the child is born. She said she doesn't want me to feel the backlash from disapproving family and friends, but I kinda think she just doesn't want to deal with it. I know I can handle anything anyone throws at me, but I'm a little hurt that my mom doesn't want me to celebrate and be excited about this. I think she thinks I should feel ashamed 🙁
