Help! Possible early labor?

What exactly is a bloody show? I'm 39+4 and I started bleeding just now, pretty light but then there was a clot. Called labor & delivery and they said to wait a while so contractions can be closer. They are about 10 minutes apart. Can this all stop or am I most likely in early labor? Please help

When I was 39+5 I experienced something similar I woke up with kind of like period cramping feelings and was thinking ok I'm probably going in to labor so I got in this mad rush to do laundry and stuff at 3 am. As I was climbing the stairs to bring some laundry up I felt a gush and thought my water broke so I rushed to the bathroom only to discover it was blood! And it was red too. I called the doc and they said to wait an hour or so, time contractions and call back so I got a shower and ate breakfast and was using that contraction timing app and mine were very light and not that close together but I went in anyway to the hospital because I was worried about the bleeding. Turns out it was early labor and the bleeding was bloody show, but they still sent me home after like 3 hours of monitoring because my contractions were not getting closer or stronger. I went home and took a nap and made Christmas cookies with my mom and then my real contractions started!!! That night I was back in the hospital around 1030, labored all night and my son was born the next morning :) good luck! They usually say if you see blood baby won't be far behind! Keep us updated.

I was just reading something about that. I think it's normal as long as it's not bright red. And yes, it means that labor is around the corner. So try to rest while you can, take a shower and make sure you have everything ready for the hospital. Good luck!!🍀

My doctor told me if at any chance there is some blood to not even call and just go straight in. Especially that you are at 39 weeks I would go no matter what they said ! Hope all goes well 💕
