Sex ED & Taboo Topics ( Debate ) ( long text, warning )
I wish I got better sex ed at school. I was taught about condoms ( by the way only male condoms, not female and no other BC method ) and it was when I was like 13. Let me tell you that's the age when boys laugh and act like they're machos and know all about it ( well most of them don't ever grow up but anyway ) and when girls hide and blush when told something about sex. So no one listened or took it seriously.
Also we were given a male condom and we could ( if we wanted ) try to put it on a chair leg. Right. A chair leg. Great but the nurse didn't actually check if we were doing it right. And I think I wasn't the only one who just looked at the condom like " ew... I'm not gonna touch this " ( yeah I was disgusted and embarrassed, I was a child and acting stupid ) so this had absolutely no point.
Honestly. The nurses weren't doing their job right. I know it's hard though. Trying to teach pre-teens... You know.
But still. It is very important. So many kids ( and not even kids, adults too ) make mistakes ( unplanned pregnancy, STDs, and not only ) because of a lack of info... We should prevent this. It's ruining so many lives. Let's stop saying it's their fault because they're immature and not responsible. Let's stop saying stuff like this and like " don't have sex if you don't know that ". Because they weren't taught properly and/or enough. I can tell.
This is why I am so grateful and happy I found this one YouTube channel that taught me so much about sex. I'm so happy that there are people like this YouTuber who just like me think sex ed is important. I'm so happy she does it perfectly and actually makes people understand a lot of things.
I don't think you'd understand her videos because they're in French, and I'm not telling you to subscribe or anything but if you're interested here it is : https://youtu.be/UBUBWdA9s2E
Honestly, this woman is great.
And you know, this is not just about sex. There are so many other topics we don't discuss because we're shy or whatever. Because these topics are considered as taboos while they shouldn't be. Am I right? I'm pretty sure most of you agree with me. Why are we afraid to stand out for our beliefs? Why do people look at me in a strange way when I say out loud what I think? You'd say maybe because I'm being rude? But not. I'm trying to be the most diplomatic possible. But still. Some topics can obviously not be discussed. Why? Tell me why! I can't understand this. I wish this could change. I swear to God I will try to make this change.
Thanks for reading this whole text and I sincerely hope you will answer and tell me how you feel about those two topics and if you agree or not. Let's have a debate on this.
