Domestic violence. .

So I hear people often say I am too smart to fall victim to to domestic violence. As a survivor this infuriates me. I'm so sorry but domestic violence is an equal opportunist. It does not care how smart you,about social and or economical class. It does not care about your religion or lack there of . it does not care about gender or sexuality. The abuser does not just walk up and punch or slap you say your going be mine. You most likely have already fell im love for this person. My ex from years ago abused me. Shr didnt start off by hitting me. Lets call her Lauren. Laurn was sexy sweet charismatic. Laurn wasn't some low class thug. Nope both her parents had great jobs as did she. She started off by oh Vivien lets spend more time together. Than Lauren little "suggestions" about things. I ll never forget first time she hit me. We were standing in my room at my house. It was few days after new year's I cracked joke about you know just messing with her she slapped me so hard I literally fell on the bed. Tears streaming down my face she rammbled abit about how it was my fault. I kicked her out she blew up my phone sent 🌹 to me at work 🏡 and school. Laurn begged me to meet up wirh her. Just let me take you out to dinner she said smh I agreed. Pattern continued she isolated mw from everyone one night something snapped in me she had took my clothes. I literally left the house in my under clothes as she slept. I walking down street n a cap reversed he hops out gives me jacket and calls his wife. His wife tells him bring me home i can barely see when get there his wife brust into tears . Turns out they lost thier daughter to domestic violence she was gay as well. They aslo lost a niece who was straight to domestic violence. I rented room from them and went to counseling. It took time but I healed. I see women/men go through cycle it breaks my 💙. I grew up middle working class. I was raised by two most wonderful people. Domestic violence crosses borders in ways most people couldn't imagine. People often say oh she girl should hit her back. Trust me if was any "bitch" off street I would have.I did include men in here because people oftwn don't understand they can be victims too. It happens more often than people think.

Note please dont pick at my grammar my mother decided crack was okay to do while pregnant with her children. Therefore left with learning disability. I have a long way . The doctors told my parents (granny n grandpa) I wouldn't walk or talk or ever live on my own . Well I proved them wrong thank to God and endless effort's of my parents and teachers.
