Drugs in candy?

My friend said she wasn't going to go trick or treating this year since she said people are going to drug her candy with heroine or ectasy or some other drugs. I could understand the cautionary for trick or treating, but she gave me VERRYY specific and multiple scenarios on the situation that would honestly be so much work to put 1,000$ worth of heroine in each candy bar for each kid... 😂

Of course I proved her wrong with each scenario she gave me, but she still believed that the drug and candy thing was more common than getting stabbed or something 😂

Now from what I know, there have been no reports at all for drugs being given or put into candy (but I might be wrong), except for this one time people were selling edibles (weed), but were telling people exactly what it was.

Do you think this happens though? Of course anything is possible, but what do you think about this stuff? Do you think it's as common as people make it to be or is it just a myth??
