Is anyone else not getting checked?

My doctor doesn't check my cervix, she sees no point as dilation and effacement don't give you any idea if labor is soon and probably just give you false hope. I also have no plans on being induced and am letting baby come when she's supposed to. anyone else?

My doc left it up to me. She said if I was curious she could check, if not there's no point in it and it wasn't something that needed to be done. So I opted out.

Me, I'm requesting not to be checked as to not increase chance of infection. Also, it's pointless as it doesn't determine when baby will be born nor "progress"

Same here. I'll be 38w tomorrow and my doctor has never once checked me. This is baby #3 for me and I've never had an internal check with either of my previous pregnancies until I'm in labour ward in labour.

There's a possibility of infection when unnecessary checks are performed so your doctor is acting right in my opinion. Waiting is always hard but we have to wait for some other symtoms. Good luck!

Sounds exactly like my doctor. She says the same exact words. But she's so right. The baby will come when the baby wants too! So I'm right there with you.... Just waiting on my water to break or to just hit labor! Let's go labor!!!!!!!!

I see several doctors in a practice, and my doctor Checked last week and said the baby was super low, I was effaced a bit but no dialation and did not have specifics. My doctor this week said He doesn't check until 39 weeks unless there is a reason to. I haven't been having false labor, or any other major health concerns. Every doctor is different. I had a friend whose doctor started checking at 36 weeks.

Yep! Our midwives don't see a point in it either.
