opinion on second hand items.

Second hand in new condition. 

The only items i refuse to buy second hand are matresses, bottle teats, dummies and car seat. Everything else ive got second hand in new perfect condition and saved hundreds of pounds. My friend just told me im being cheap and tacky getting my son second hand items when ive no excuse as i can afford brand new!! Really upset as i expected a better attitude from someone whom has children and my best friend of 15 years!! They grow out of it so fast and hardly wear the clothes or use things much when so small. I have explained shes upset me and she doesn't seem to care. My SO is furious and told me not to bother speaking to her if thats how shes wishes to be. Thanks for replies. 

Just to add all my items ive actually brought from my SO sister and she has a spotless smoke free pet free house. All items are desighner brand. All in perfect new condition. So its not like ive brought very bad condition items with damage, holes etc. 

Update-: Thank-you very much for all your responses its made me feel alot better. I have tried speaking to my friend but unfortunately she is still being very rude so i've left things until she can apologise to me.  She was the last person i expected it from so it did upset me a great deal.
