Reviews on paraguard??

Question

I have an appointment for birth control tomorrow and I don't want any hormones so I decided to get the paraguard. Can any of you guys tell me how you like it so far?? Any complications with it?

I got mine last month! You're going to feel VERY cramps for a few days plus my period was coming a few days after my insertion. So far my first period with it was fine, but my second period the string felt very long and I thought it was expelling itself (which I read is because your cervix moves around a lot while you're on your period). I'm telling you from personal experience, so don't go watching too many vids before your appointment because you're going to start freaking out. The insertion pain on a scale 1-10 was probably like a 5 or 6 I guess it depends how how much pain you can take. I hope all goes well!!

Ive had 5 paraguards. For he most part they are great! But if your like me and have never had a kid or uterus that just rejects it its not the choice for you. Unlike hormones it needs to inplace perfectly all the time or ot doesnt work. I loved mine while it worked but they kept being pushed out and one even went through the wall of my uterus! All 5 i had back to back and not one lasted me more then 7 months. I had all of them before the age of 18. Now i use a mirana and its been working great! I didnt wanna do hormones either but if you cant deal with or use a paraguard get a mirana because its a localized hormone that wont mess with your body or hormone levels while or after taking it!
