sick while pregnant?

I'm terrified of getting sick while pregnant, especially since I've decided not to get the flu shot. I work in a daycare where the children are constantly sick and I'm just hoping I don't get anything 😢

Why would you not get the flu shot when you worked with children?? Flu can be harmful during pregnancy so I strongly recommend getting it. However, if you're still against it then plenty of hand washing and vitamins should keep most things away!

I was sick with the flu when I found out that I was pregnant. I felt miserable and had a fever of 104 f but my doctor told me to take paracetamol and that it won't harm baby. Now I'm 34 weeks pregnant and baby is doing fine even tho I'm sick with a cold lol

Just practice good hygiene, hydrate, healthy foods and load up on vitamin C. I take 1000 every day and twice that when I'm feeling something coming. I haven't been sick but once this pregnancy and that was before I started taking C.

I just have to say good luck! Kids are germ factories. My daughter just got me sick and i normally handle things very well (i had surgery Dec 2015 and didnt take any pain medication because i could handle the pain) but this last week has been miserable! I feel like im dying! I have the worst congestion, body aches and terrible sore throat. I finally caved last night and took some Tylenol and some decongestant because i haven't been sleeping due to the cough and not being able to breathe. Good hygiene will only get you so far, especially when you have airborne or droplet viruses. All it takes is for a kid to sneeze or cough too close to you and thats it. Im just trying to be realistic and syrongly advise you to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Speak to your doctor about what you can and cant take, and buy everything a head of time. Ahh man, don't envy you in the slightest.
I used to work in a day nursery and the long hours alone meant I was always run down! I am forever thankful I am not working in one whilst pregnant, don't know how people do it 😂
