When should a baby be weaned off of formula?

My son is 5 months old, and has been eating a jar of food a day since he was about 4 months. He has a 7oz bottle every 3 hours of soup formula (dairy intolerance). How old should he be when I start to wean him off of formula and how would I do it? I'm a FTM

Food before 1 is just for fun.

Formula and/or Breastmilk should be primary nutrition until the age of 1

He needs to stay on formula til he is 1. That's what I've always. When told, and went by with all of my babies. 😊

Not until age one. Formula still needs to be his main source of nutrition until that time.

I done the same with my son started giving jars from 4 months as he was a very Hungry baby! I started introducing more solid food at 6 months like baby porridge after his morning bottle, mushy fruit jars in the afternoon and things like that, slowly he will be cutting out his own bottles and you add in breakfast, lunch and dinner (and snacks as they get older) hope his helps x

Your should stay on formula/breast milk until you consult his pediatrician. Usually after their first birthday is when you switch to cows/goats/almond milk.
