how do I pare this down?

Family has been telling me that my list has way too much stuff. What do I need to get rid of? I was thinking it was pretty solidly minimal for a first baby.

What is there to take off? I can't seem to figure it out and no one will elaborate on the "I wouldn't even by half of that" when I ask what to take off they say "you just gotta downsize the list"

Also, you might want to think about adding stuff for you like breast feeding essentials if you plan to breast feed (leak pads, Nipple cream, cover) and health care for the baby like gripe water, thermometer, saline solution, baby frida. I had no idea what all these were going to be for but was happy I had them when I needed them! You don't want to have a fussy and sick baby and have to run to the store for this stuff

I'd also take the bowls, pouches and food processor off. You may find that you get them and when baby is 6 months that you decide to do baby led weaning which wouldn't require any more than a highchair and bowls/plates but you'll have plenty of time to prepare for weaning once baby is here. Other than that I don't see too much problem. Could get away with taking home safety things off as you don't really need to baby proof too much until they can move around by themselves, neither of my boys crawled until over 7 months. Although to be honest I love making lists and if it helps you to feel prepared for everything you may need then leave it all on there, this is your baby not other family members baby.

Well I'd cut out the sleeping rocker, as pack n plays come with infant sleepers now. That's what I'm using and they are good up until the age of 2 to sleep in them if need be. Anything related to making food/food storage if mark out too. You won't need that until around 6 months. Make sure your jogging stroller fits your car seat as babies can't be in them without one for 4-5 months. If your cloth diapering (o think that's what insaw) you won't need regular ones. The owl monitor isn't necessary either, they have cheaper ones on eBay/Amazon.

I'd cut out half of that too. You don't need anything to do with baby food for at least 4 months and they're cheap so you're not gonna be spending a fortune. A regular blender works just fine for baby food as well. And no need for bookshelves, door silencers, string lights, books. You want what you want and that's fine but I think that's what they mean. Why not train your baby to sleep through noise?  Then door silencers are unnecessary. I trained my baby to sleep through football games. I didnt tiptoe around like shhh everyone the baby is asleep. But it's your baby and your nursery so do you if you can afford it!

If the space you have allows a standard sized crib at all, I would suggest getting a standard sized crib. Everyone I know who bought a mini crib has had to get a bigger one by 9 months.

We used the rock n play during the day and half of the night for the first few months and although we liked it, our son now has a flat head and needs a helmet to correct it.

Unless you have trips planned already, you might get away without a pack n play.

Everything having to do with solid foods can wait.

Your list is in no way too long or outrageous. If it's going on your registry, I'd say add even more because you can always exchange stuff. But if this is stuff you want to buy yourself and need to downsize, take my suggestions into consideration.

You could do without the bowls & cutlery, food processor, and toys since you won't need those for a while. You also won't need the diaper sprayer unless you plan on using cloth diapers, but I assume you know that already.

I would at least take off the the food processor and bowls and cutlery since you will not be needing those for a while!
