Is it normal to have period like cramps in third trimester?

I have an OB appointment on Thursday so I'll be talking to my doctor then. But I've been experiencing cramps that honestly feel like I'm about to start my period. Which isn't right because I'm 33 weeks pregnant. Baby is still kicking a lot so it's not really worrisome but I'm just curious. I had cramping in my first trimester because my uterus was growing and now I bet it's growing again and more rapidly due to my little baby. Am I assuming right? Is it normal to have period-like cramps in the third trimester (poll question)?
