TTC while breastfeeding?

Hi ladies! Anyone have tips on how to conceive while breastfeeding? My baby is 1 and I just stopped pumping but am continuing to breastfeed. I still haven't gotten my period but I am hoping to get pregnant soon. My husband and I are in our mid to late thirties so we're "older" parents and it took a while to get pregnant the first time. I'd like to continue to nurse my son for a little longer but want to be able to try to conceive at the same time, if possible. Any tips would be appreciated!

As soon as I  night weened I got pregnant within the month (after taking a while to get pregnant the first time ) I never had my period return

I got pregnant while breastfeeding, my son was 9 months old at the time. It also took a long time for my husband and I to conceive our first baby, so I got off the pill thinking it would not happen didn't away but it happened the first month.I am also in my mid thirties.  You could still be ovulating even though you are not getting your period and stopping to pump will definitely help.  I would suggest using an ovulation kit to see if you are actually ovulating then go from there.  Good luck!

Try to stop night feeds. At the age of 1 your LO doesn't really need a nighttime feed. If your baby wakes in the night give water if thirsty or maybe a little quick snack if they are hungry. Remember that you may have to give breakfast earlier than usually as it is difficult for a baby to go too long without food. When I stopped night feeds my periods returned & I got pregnant there after. Good luck 🙂
