Opinions on IUD?

I'm looking into getting an IUD, have my appointment on friday for it, I need your opinions, side affects? Good things? Bad things? Things to be aware of! Thanks guys (:

I've had Paragard for 2 months and I absolutely love it. I never have to worry about it. The day I got it I had such bad cramping I almost called out of work though. So I would recommend taking the day of and just chilling. Also when it got inserted it hurt so bad so definitely take like ibuprofen or Motrin before you go to get it inserted, it'll help a lot. Other than that I have nothing negative to say about it.

I have the paragard for about 3-4 month. Ended up in the hospital with extreme abdominal pain. It ended up implanted in my uterine walls.

It didn't work well for me at all. I had the Skyla for 8 months. I got terrible sharp stabbing pains the entirety of it. Sex was uncomfortable in certain positions. It also gave me terrible anxiety and acne. When my strings disappeared and gave us the scare of either imbedding or falling out, I had enough.
