implanon help??!

How effective is the implanon??? Me and my boyfriend have unprotected sex and he doesn't pull out and we generally go to sleep right away (no standing up). My period is 5 days late and I have a lot of weird symptoms and I dont know if it's side effects of the bar, or if I'm in big trouble. Please help!
