Positive induction stories?

Question

I am being induced tomorrow 40 + 6. I've heard tons of stories about inductions taking days and being way more painful than if I were to go into labor naturally. I guess lucky for me I'm a FTM & have nothing to compare it too. Anybody have any positive or have a quick induction? Please share!

I had my little girl on Wednesday. It was an induction. I wouldn't do it any other way. I went in at 3 cm dilated, and they started the Pitocin. Within three hours I was fully dilated which shocked me, because I'd had the epidural, and couldn't feel anything but pressure during the contractions. Then I pushed three times and my little girl was born. It was a breeze!

FTM here. My induction was amazing. I went in terrified with this being my first time. I went in and started on Pitocin at 11am, then fell asleep because they bumped it so gradually. Once my back got sore they gave me my epidural at 6:30pm, along with breaking my water right after. I felt nothing. I was so numb from the waist down I couldn't move whatsoever. I fell back asleep and at 9:39pm the doctor says it's time to push. So everyone had to hold my legs since I had no feeling. 2 pushes later and at 9:41pm, baby girl was here❤️

I will be induced Monday, and have heard nothing but horror stories. I'm a second time mom and talked to my doctor about my concerns. She said that she has had 1 induced labor and one natural labor and she says a contraction is a contraction and both experiences where very similar. There is no better or worse. Good luck!

I had complications after the birth but I'm a ftm and they told me to prepare for a 24-36 hour labor. When I went in for my induction I was only dilated a fingertip and 60% effaced, I gave birth to my daughter 16 hours and 58 minutes later. Labor lasted 14 hours and I pushed for 3 hours.

I was feeling the same way as you!! My baby was just born this morning. I went in on Wednesday night, they inserted cervidil about 9 pm. Between 1-2am started having contractions, my water broke about 3 am, got the epidural at 4:30am, started pitocin at 6am and baby girl was born at 10:57 am with about 45 minutes of pushing.  When I went in I was 1cm dilated, 50% effaced and had absolutely no signs of labor.  It really just depends how your body responds. I wish you the best, hope it goes for you as it did for me!!!

My induction was not a great experience it took about 48 hours start to baby, but I will say that it helps if your body is partially ready for labor already. Mine was not I was 39weeks and was not effaced, not dilated and my cervix was extremely high and posterior BUT I had preeclampsia so they wanted baby out for my and babies safety. I will say that although it was a long and sometimes painful process I did like already being in a hospital in a controlled environment and having time to mentally prepare myself before going in to be induced. I feel like it was less stressful for me this way! :) also once my water broke and I got the epidural things were a breeze I took a nap, and only had to push for 15 minutes so it certainly was not all bad!

Good luck :) I was induced at 40+4. It went very smooth. Was in labor for 7 hours.

I was induced at 40.2 weeks. My doctor broke my water and started me on a low dose of pitocin at about 1:00 pm. The contractions were back to back and very painful. I'm so glad I got the epidural when I did. I progressed from a 5 to a 10 in like 3 hours. Pushed for 15 minutes and he was born with only minor tears. Very fast labor. Your body should be ready, no worries.

FTM, induced at 37w+3. 11 hours from beginning to end. Only dilated a fingertip to start with.
