Asexual?!?

Question

If I'm Asexual, can I be in a relationship with someone who is straight? I just saw a post about a girl asking about how she is dating a man who is asexual and she had questions about the sexuality.. and almost all the comments said something like.. "RUN... if he is asexual, Run! Because it will only cause problems in the relationship"
But... Just because I'm Asexual and I'm not sexually attracted to another, doesn't mean I'm not allowed to have a romantic relationship?? Is this really how people think? If I were to tell my boyfriend today that I was asexual, will he run too? Will he leave because of it? Am I, or any asexual, not allowed to feel loved or in a happy relationship.. just because I don't crave for sex like most people?
I really need some opinions guys..

Just because you're asexual doesn't mean you can't be in a healthy romantic relationship with someone of a different sexuality. It may be harder depending on who you both are, but it's not impossible. You deserve love just like everyone else. But if he leaves you just because you're asexual, then he didn't deserve you. Hi! I'm also ace, and I've definitely had these worried before. Make sure you are upfront in the relationship about yourself, and make it clear if you're willing to have sex or under what circumstances it's ok to have sex. You are definitely allowed to be in a relationship! The things that those people were saying are wrong and aphobic. If the relationship won't work with the guidelines you have set, that's fine, because the relationship wouldn't have worked anyways if he/she/that couldn't respect you.

You are a human, meaning you can be in a relationship with whoever you want (being they consent to it as well) love/like/date whoever you want. Just be a decent person is all anyone can ask for of you!

You need to figured out what you are.

Homosexual (same sex) 
Heterosexual (opposite sex)
Asexual (NO SEXUAL ATTRACTION AT ALL) 
Demisexual (sexual feelings for only 1 special person)

I think it would work out best to be with someone with the same mindset, as in asexual too. Seems logical to me that a loving relationship could become of it easier. Ya know?

If you are asexual you would indeed probably need to be with another asexual. It is a sexuality. A gay person with a straight person would not work because the feelings wouldn't be mutual. If someone is not asexual they likely will not want to be in a relationship with someone who is because they do indeed want sex in a relationship. Wanting sex every day + a person who never wants to have sex = issues from the start. Not to say some people don't do it. I personally though am pansexual and I do want sex in my relationships so I would choose to be in a relationship that involved sex. This is an issue with just straight and gay people too. There are many couples that struggle because one has a higher sex drive than the other.
