Promise Ring?

Okay,  my boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 months.  He is 26 years old and I am 20. Things have been serious since we started talking.  We're both stable, I moved out of my mom's when we turned a month,  and I'm staying with my father until January (we're moving in together). We've been through a lot since we started dating. And we help each other in every way. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he wants some Jordan's.  So he asked me what I wanted but I told him that whatever he wanted I'd enjoy 😍 but what I really want is a PROMISE RING. But idk if i should tell him. I feel weird, I don't like asking for anything from anyone.  My question is,  is it a good idea? Or should I ask for something else???

I don't really understand promise rings - it seems silly.  If you playing like your adults why not just get engaged and married

My suggestion is to talk openly about it! When it was me and my SO's one year anniversary he asked what I wanted and I made up stupid presents that I didn't want until i grew some courage and told him I wanted a promise ring! We went ring shopping together (since he doesn't have the best taste judgement). It brought us a lot closer together and I love being able to look down and see it every day 💕💕just be open! If you think that you are there then you can talk about it! 💕💕

Well my bf got me a promise ring after we were together for 7 months. Yes i told him ahead of time like months ahead that id love a ring and showed him one that id like. I told him it didnt have to be a ring with any meaning i just would like something from him. He called it a promise ring and he told me ahead of time i was getting it. The problem we had with mine is that it looks more like an engagement ring and he felt uncomfortable having his family and my family asking about it and judging it. So we decided id stop wearing it around everyone. When we celebrated being together 14 months he surprised me with a new one that he picked out all on his own and i love it! I was so happy to have him do this all on his own it meant more to me than the ring itself since my bf isnt the romantic type.

I wouldn't mention it. What if that's what he plans on doing anyways? You could ruin the surprise. What if it scares him or makes him feel weird idk. I wouldn't mention it. I'm 26 my bf is 30 and we've been together for two years and this year has been the hardest year of my life and he's stuck by me through it all. I wouldn't mention a promise ring to him bc he's stuck by me through this years family drama lmao and that's good enough for me. A promise ring means different things to people. It could be too much for him after only 3 mo is all I'm saying. I know you're not asking for an engagement ring but to guys that's what pops in mind haha.

The point of a promise ring when I was younger was a ring from my dad promising I wouldn't give up my virginity before marriage. That thing went missing when I was 14 lol I out grew it honestly but lost my virginity later that year. Talk about coincidence. I've never really thought a promise ring was for anything else.
Honestly, if you say anything about a ring you may put pressure on him that he's not ready for. Engagement is a pop the question. Not she asks for it.
