Breast pump for inducing?

Question

Okay so I want to try this for two reason, I have GD have heard if you bring the colostrum you pump you can avoid giving baby formula if they have low sugars. And also because I'm 38 weeks tomorrow, baby is getting big for my tiny body & I'm so sore! Does it work? Is it worth trying? Also do you need to clean the breast pump before using if it's brand new?

I wouldn't do anything to induce labor... I would let it happen naturally... less chance of going to csection...

I brought on my last 3 labors with  nipple stimulation... not pumping but stimulating ... have your husband play with them in a comfortable consistent manner... not to bring out any of the colostrum.. rubbing.. gently sucking.. whatever works to make you feel a contraction... then stop until the contraction ends... they will start out very subtle... start the stimulation again until you feel another contraction... they will increase with intensity and get closer together and last longer... it will only work when your body is fully ready.... I was actually 3 days overdue with one.. 3 days early and 6 days early .. the two that were a few days early were both 9lbs 8oz. And I am so glad we got the labor going.... i just felt like i was at a point where if they didnt come out that day they wouldnt fit out..  the 6 day early guy got his shoulders stuck and nurses said that i was lucky if he was any bigger he would not have got out vaginally. So do what feels right for you.
