2 weeks no sex after D&C

I'm not sure I can wait 2 weeks to have sex/try to get pregnant again. I had my D&C Wednesday and she said for us to wait 2 weeks before interoucrse and one cycle before we try again but I'm not sure I can do that nor do I want too. What are the risks of not waiting for a cycle to show up?? My next appointment is nov 8th to make sure everything is in fact good to go after the D&C.
