Fort Lee??

Question

After basic this summer, my boyfriend will have 3 months of schooling in fort lee, Virginia. Will I be able to visit him? Or will it be more like basic? I'm a little nervous because he will be gone for a total of 5 months and will be gone for our 5th anniversary😞😞 hoping I could go see him for that but I'm unsure.

Ordnance or quartermaster? I attended Lee in '12 and my sister and daughter visited often. Depending on their command/status (phases) they can get day passes. If it's a long ordnance AIT and you're married you can look into moving on base as a "permanent party" if it's still a thing and they don't go to FT Sill for part two otherwise you wait until Sill.

Fort Lee is the apitomy of hell. I went here for tech school in the air force and my husband spent a year there with the army for AIT. his AIT they weren't allowed off base, to eat anywhere but the defac and couldn't wear civies at all. Mine I eventually got to go off base, could wear civies the last week and could order take out but the entire experience made me rule ever visiting Virginia out all together. It's mainly about who your chain of command is and how much they want to make you hate your life while your there. I would have gladly slept at the school house to avoid the drill instructors who were in charge of the dorms.

Is it AIT? My husband got to have visitors while he was in AIT. And my best friend got to visit her husband while he was in it too. You should be good! Just make sure you get the green light that you can. It'd be easier planning things, knowing he's allowed to go out.

My husband was at fort lee for basic, you can visit but he has to be back on base at a certain time, or he can fill out paperwork to have base leave for the weekend and you guys can stay at a hotel or something

My husband is in the Air Force and after he graduated basic, he had 2 months of schooling. It's pretty laid back compared to basic, so I think you would be able to visit him on the weekend. It can get pretty tricky though. I went to my husbands graduation from basic, but I didn't ever go visit him in tech school because he was 14 hours away. I wish I could be more helpful!

That's where I was at for tech school! You'll be able to see him, but I am not sure if he can stay the night off base with you. When I was there you couldn't.

My husband was there last October to March for BOLC. I could visit him anytime I wanted he lived in a hotel on base and had his own room. I could of even moved there with him for those months but with a job I couldn't do it.

My SO was there! He is in the army reserves. I didn't visit him but I'm sure you'll be able to.
