So opks are pointless for me, or idk

So my doctor wanted me to take opks until I got a color change, got one & went in. So she said I had a really good follicle ready to blow and day now. She told me to come back to get my progesterone tested ( I think that's the word). I got there after bd'ing like crazy that week hoping for an early bfp only to find out my numbers were an 8 🤔 & I didn't ovulate well or even at ALL what does that even mean, I thought either u did or u didn't. But it's like wtf positive opk, good follicle & still No O.  That makes me feel like all these years I've been using these fugazy ass opks for nothing 👊🏾🙃
