Am I just cranky or do I have a point?

My fiancé is a nice man. He has been there for every OB appointment, he's been supportive, he's been my rock. But lately, he has been on this kick of not letting me do anything (laundry, cooking, or cleaning) because I'm pregnant. I get that he wants to help and I really appreciate it, but it gets old being told I'm not allowed to do something.... In my own home. Literally everyone has bitched at me about being ungrateful, which I'm not. Like I said, I appreciate it. But I don't like feeling useless and sometimes I need to just cook or clean to get my mind off of things. Do I have a point or am I just being cranky?

I think both. You're bring cranky and you have a point. I totally get how annoying it can be you're not handicapped you're pregnant lol fully capable of day to day activities that can be very frustrating. But like you said he has been amazing and it's coming from a place of great love so try to cut him some slack and explain that you're not made of glass and you appreciate everything but for your sanity and his you need to move around a little.

It's probably just his way of helping with the pregnancy. Men go through all the nesting and all that jazz too. So even though I'm sure it's annoying I'd just try to think about his feelings and how this is his way of dealing with his emotions and feeling like apart of the pregnancy. Also you can tell him how you're feeling. Good luck momma

Man I wish my bf will help me lol!!! But yes you have a point.. cleaning an cooking make your day go faster!!! I stress because I don't know what to cook every day

I can understand that it may be annoying, but it sounds like he really cares for you and the baby. I wouldn't give him too much attitude about it. There are so many women on these forums that complain that their husbands think that they are making up all of the symptoms and milking it. You sound like you have someone who wants to take care of you.

I understand both sides. Some people have to do everything and don't have a helpful partner. Others have it like you.

I understand his thinking too, he just wants you to rest and not over work yourself, but maybe he just doesn't understand that just because we are pregnant, doesn't mean we HAVE to be put in a bubble.

Maybe sit him down and calmly tell him how much you love him and appreciate the fact he's doing everything around the house, but you miss doing stuff in your own home. Sometimes sitting around all day ends up making my body hurt more than when I have a busy day! Tell him that being active is good in pregnancy, and that you are even encouraged to exercise and be doing things. We aren't as fragile as some people think.

Just make sure you're letting him know how much you appreciate his efforts, but you miss laundry sometimes lol

As sweet as it is, I totally get it. You're not just being cranky. Maybe have a little talk and ask him if he will let you do some of the things you used to/enjoy doing. You're pregnant you're not crippled! And it's good for you to be moving around! Be sure to tell him how much you appreciate him and all he's doing and that you think he's the sweetest thing ever.

My wife is the same, I'm only almost 9 weeks and I tease her by the time I start growing more she won't even let me feed myself because the fork is too heavy 😂

My husband has been the same way lately. Its driving me crazy. He now doesn't want me to drive because its "risky". 😑

I can relate. I hate being made to feel like an invalid, helpless and weak. But you just have to remember that's not why he's doing those things. My husband likes to take care of me sometimes just because it makes him feel good, it's not that he thinks I'm incapable. I just have to remind myself of that before I react.
