FTM- Need help with bedtime routines- What helps your little ones

FTM and need some advice for bedtime routines. So my little guy will be 9 weeks on Thursday and I've tried to start a bedtime routine for the last week in a half. My question is do you ladies start feeding your little for bed once they get fussy or before. My little guy starts fussing around 6-6:30 so I would change his diaper and get his Pjs on then feed him. But once I feed him / burp him and set him down he cries and it becomes a long process to get him to bed. I can usually calm him and get him to sleep by 7:30-8:00 but, Am I doing things to late. Should I start feeding him like at 5 so he doesn't fight me. It just seems so early to me. I'm really trying to transition him over to his crib, but it hasn't been successful. Any advice would be much appreciated 😊
