Rocking baby to sleep..

Silly rant: I don't know if anyone else had noticed this, but I find it kind of annoying that anyone who holds my newborn feels they automatically need to get to rocking him to sleep. I know it's partially instinctual to rock/bounce/lull a baby to sleep, but that's usually the opposite of what we're needing at the moment. I usually change and feed baby right after a nap to hand off to whomever wants to hold him so he's happy, all his needs are met, and he's alert for the holder... only to find that he's been lulled back to sleep within 5 minutes lol. Just a teeny peeve of mine...
