Do I still have a chance of going before or on due date?

I'm due the 8th and am only a fingertip dilated, and 50% effaced. I get dilation doesn't really indicate anything and effacement can be a doctors opinion and vary so idk, now I'm just worried I'm not making much progress. Baby is extremely low in my pelvis but I hardly get contractions and when I do they're not that painful. It doesn't feel like labor is anywhere close. Someone give me hope. I don't want to go past the 8th especially since an early scan put my due date at the 3rd. 😳
