Bronchitis?

Does anyone have recommendations on treating bronchitis while pregnant? I'm 8 wks and have had stuffiness since the beginning of my pregnancy, but a little over a week ago it turned into a very bad cough. Unfortunately the cough just seems to be moving deeper into my chest (feels like bronchitis) and the violent coughing fits I get aren't helping me keep food in my already nauseous belly. I saw my doctor last week and he said I just have to wait out the virus and can take Tylenol for aches, but since then the cough has gotten much worse. Any suggestions for safe ways to relieve the cough and congestion?
