Do you think he'll ever propose?

My bf and I have been together for almost 4 years and we have a son together. We live together since he was born. We are 20 and 21.  Everyone says he wont propose now, because we already have a kid together so there is no point. He used to say that I'll be the first in my group of friends to get engaged, but he never proposes 😢 Im just so heartbroken, I feel like it wont happen ever. Is it my fault? Why am I not good enough for him to marry? Is he waiting until he finds someone else? Does he think I'd be a bad wife?? ( I asked him every one of these questions, but he never gives me a straight answer...) Im just so so sad... I always get my hopes up during the holidays. Christmas, our 4th anniversary, my birthday and valentines day are in the next 3 months, so many opportunities for him... But I know it wont happen 💔😔😢

I was in the same situation. I waited 10 years. Never got a proposal.
I ended it and I'm happily married to someone else.

If marriage is important to you and you make this clear to the other person then it's not acceptable for them to ignore your demands.they should propose or move on.

To keep you in a state of limbo is just selfish and arrogant.

I also believe if a man doesn't propose after getting you pregnant and having a child together it's a very bad sign.

People will say give it time.....

Really .. how much time does a man need to decide if he wants to marry you or not.

If marriage is important to you then go after it. If he doesn't want it then don't stay and be misérable.

Maybe his not ready, my partner has been ready to have a baby with me for over 2 years but not ready to propose 😩 he says when his ready I will know and to stop going on about it or the more I go on about it the longer I wait! God men are such arse holes and don't know what women really want unless they are told!!! Argh

I've been with my man for almost 6 years. We are about to have our second baby together. I would love if he proposed. I don't want to pressure him either. We discussed it too we want to buy a house and settle before we think about a wedding. 
I also accept that if it doesn't happen I'm ok with that. We have a life together and we're happy. I feel that's what's most important.

My fiancé asked me to marry him after our daughter was born. So, just the fact that you have a child together, doesn't mean anything about whether or not he will propose. If he wants to marry you, he will propose to you. He will do it on his own time, when he's ready. If he doesn't want to get married, he won't ask you. It's up to you how long you will wait for him. However, I think you need to understand that him wanting to marry you or not has no reflection of you as a person or a spouse. This is about him. Not about you. You are perfectly worthy of love and marriage. If it's not with him, that only means that he wasn't the right one for you. It means nothing about your worth, or whether or not you are good enough to be his wife. It means that he isn't good enough to be your husband.

You are both still quite young, and outside of your emotional well being, it doesn't sound like he feels that he is ready and that it is for the best just yet.  I think you need to chill a little, and schedule some couples counseling so that you can really talk in a safe place end hear what is going on for each other, really listening, rather than continuing to fuel stream of anxiety

I think you're blowing this out of proportion.  Yes, four years is a decent amount of time to be with someone and as a woman I'd expect a proposal at some point soon after four years...but you can't keep asking him questions about it. If you keep bringing it up then it'll only put pressure on him. That's not how you want him to propose, not out of feeling pressured. You want him to do it because he wanted to and he's ready and he loves you. When it comes to proposing, men operate on their own timeline. My husband told me it was the easiest yet hardest decision he's ever made. It's a lot of pressure on a man. Don't put more pressure on him by making him feel bad that he hasn't done it yet. Especially when you ask him questions like that. And to be honest, you're both super young still and there's a lot of time. Just enjoy it. When you reach 7 or 10 years and he still hasn't asked, then bring it up.

It honestly depends on him and you and your current living situation and all that.
I've been with my "husband" for 8yrs and we're not married. Some days I care and others I don't. We have 2 kids together and a life and a home so I don't see why we should get married but then other days I do.

He's awfully young. You never know what the future holds, but I don't have a single friend whose relationship lasted from their early 20s, even with kids involved.
