Cervix Check

My doctor has been checking my cervix for the past 3 weeks. It's always uncomfortable but today it was down right excruciating. Finally began to dilate at 1 1/2 but do you think he made it more rough on purpose to stir some things up? He told me I will likely have a bloody show mixed with mucous and he has never said that before after he checked me. He gave me pads to take home. I'm 38.2 and this is the 5th check I've had.
