Can I give my 7 month old Prune baby food to help his constipation?

He's already been on solids for 2 months so he's had everything baby food wise other than prunes. Pears normally do the trick but they're not and he keeps straining to go. I've done the thermometer trick as well as a warm bath and nothing has helped. Thanks in advance!

If the prunes themselves don't do the trick (they never did for my baby), try two ounces of undiluted prune juice in a bottle.

I mixed an ounce of prune juice as part of my daughters morning bottle 3 days a week. After she was more regular I cut it to half an ounce and then spaced out the days farther. Now I'll give it to her if it seems like she's having trouble and crying.
