too many BIG registry items?

Does anyone else feel like they have too many big items on their registry (pack n pack, stroller, car seat, rock n play, ergobaby, baby monitor, etc.)? I have so many big ticket items but I can't imagine who would buy them! My parents are buying our crib and my MIL bought us a mamaroo so they won't be buying anything else. I feel a little uncomfortable putting these items on knowing that people didn't spend that much at my bridal shower. Did anyone else feel this way??

I put them on there for the completion discount. I didn't expect anyone to buy them really, but I wanted the 10% off to buy them myself. Just make sure you have low priced items as well.

I'm adding everything I need. If no one buys them then I get a 15% discount on the items not purchased.

The places I'm registered give you a 15% or so off discount on whatever is left on your registry. So anything else we may but I put on there for that reason. I also added several receiving blankets and other small items so people didn't feel like they had to spend 200 bucks lol. Sometimes people will go in on a big item too.

I thought the exact same thing when I first started to build mine. I had a lot of reservations about etiquette and discomfort with asking. My mom stepped in with advice and said not to be shy about it; your chances of getting it are 0% if you don't even list it. The worst thing that can happen is you don't get it.

If I needed it, I added it. I'm a FTM starting from scratch so my registry ended up being pretty hefty. 😬😳 Bigger ticket items included the bassinet, crib & mattress, travel system, pack n play, changing table, and glider with ottoman.

I truly never expected those items to be bought... but in the end, much to my surprise they were all taken care of. My Dad and his wife got the crib, my in laws the travel system, my grandma the pack n play, my mom got the changing table, a dear friend bought the glider, and another gifted me their own bassinet. I can't wait to pay it forward at all the future showers I attend! ☺️

No one will judge you negatively for listing your needs for baby. It's not like you wouldn't be incredibly grateful for the gifts, you've got no sense of intitlement.

We usually buy the big items together with friends or family. I have a shower on Saturday and my mum and sister and myself have purchased a $500 car seat which was on sale for $400!

As long as you have plenty of less expensive items, I wouldn't worry about it. Leave it on for the completion discount at the end.

I'd put whatever you need on the registry and not worry about some of it being expensive - but do try to make sure there are things at a range of prices. Including big ticket items isn't bad form, but having all big ticket items and nothing or very little for other budgets is.

We put everything we wanted or needed on ours. From binkies to the crib. Toys r us does that discount thing and it made it easier for me to keep track of what I still needed to buy. And no one bought us anything from our registry so there's always that

We put everything on ours but also made sure to put lots of little things as well.
Such as, my MIL/FIL insisted on buying the crib. My husbands aunts insisted on chipping in together to buy our travel system.
My parents gave us gift cards (they hate using amazon) and with that bought a pack n play, a nice bookcase and a mobile.
Everything else has been small or cloth diapers.

Just make sure you have lots of lower priced items as well and it's not a big deal. People will buy what they want. I put everything I need on my registry cuz I'm using it as a checklist for what I need to buy for myself as well.
