Mixed signals

I was with my boyfriend for a couple years, he cheated and we talked about getting back together but now I need time to myself. Talking to other guys, strictly sex you know? See what's out there. I started talking to this guy, hot even really my type but he's from my area but moved away and comes home a couple times a month. We spent everyday talking and of course mostly sex. And I kept it that way because I didn't want to develop feelings. Then we were "sexting" sending pics. And it was how it usually was and he just stopped answering and we haven spoken since. I'm not going to try because I am not going to get myself worked up over it. We are suppose to hangout In a 2 weeks. I just don't understand it, any thoughts ?
