To have a shower or not?

Are you have your 2nd, or 3rd child?  Will you have a baby shower?  I havent decided, of course my mother says its not my choice and that she will throw one whether I want it or not.  My son is almost 5 and we pretty much got rid of his baby stuff other than some clothes because my boyfriend didnt want to have another child.  Obviously we changed our mind but are now out baby things.  My grandmother told me that it would be greedy of me to have a baby shower since I had stuff and chose to get rid of it.  She then went on to tell me how she used her baby stuff from her children for her grandchildren.  *sigh*  I am just curious how you all are feeling on this matter and if you will have a baby shower or not.

Every baby should be celebrated. So every baby deserves a shower. Never bothered me if I had been invited to numerous baby showers for one mother. Every baby is different and the wants and needs are different. Things get updated, cooler things come out, new bedding and such. It's fun to pick out and every child serves the be celebrated ☺️ but it's totally up to you if you would like one or not.

I had a 10 year gap between my babies and had a shower and heard a friend comment that it was selfish to have a shower but guess what, I don't care what she thinks. I gave away every baby item I had to people who needed it. All babies should be celebrated and I plan on having a shower with this baby too.

I feel weird about having a shower for baby #3  bc it's our second boy. With my second child, first girl, we did a sip and see and that was a lot of fun. We have decided to do a "baby"que once new baby is here. We figure it will be nice outside and it will be fun to get all our friends and family together to pass baby around and baby 😊

Ill be having my third baby but only 2nd baby shower. My son is 6 and i lost my daughter at 31 weeks last year. So my family is throwing ne one for our rainbow. I have only two boxes of baby clothes from my daughter last year my parents got me before we found out she wasnt going to make it. So i have absolutely nothing for this baby.

I've heard of having a shower after your first and only asking for things that you wouldn't still have, like diapers and stuff. You could have it right after the babies born and have everyone meet the baby.

I'm having my second boy and my first will be a year and half when baby 2 gets here. So we won't have a baby shower.

I think the proper thing is to only have a baby shower with your first baby. It seems that a lot of people will have showers for subsequent pregnancies, especially when there is a big time gap. IMO, it's really not that big of a deal to have another shower. If your friends think it's tacky, then they don't need to participate.
