Anyone else on short term disability?

I've been contracting pretty regularly since 20 weeks.  At 24 weeks I had a TVUS which showed my cervix was 2.2 cm long.  I was admitted to the hospital for steroids. Stayed 4 days and then discharged home with modified activity.  My cervix was 60%, short, soft, but closed.  My doctor recommended that I not work (I'm a RN) and we would reassess at 30 weeks to see if I could go back to work.  Well yesterday I had an appointment and now my cervix is 75% effaced, short, soft, and 1cm dilated.  This change happened even on modified activity!  Now the plan is to stay home from work until 32 weeks.

I'm just worried that I will use up all my time before the baby is even born since I was put on disability at 24 weeks. I have a call into the company that provides our disability to check in with them.  Just wondering if anyone else had to be off work for the majority of their pregnancy.  And how did you deal with it?

I've been on short term disability since 27weeks due to PreE and preterm labor...I'm in healthcare also. I have PSD from my work and the 12weeks of state disability plus I bought a second short Rem policy through work. If I had her on my actually due date they said I'd go into my baby bonding 4 days but I'm having her early so it's not an issue. I'd call your HR and see what they say and what all you have going for you with PSD/PTO and state. Ultimately though your baby is way more important and you sound high risk for preterm.

Is it short term disability or are you using your straight time? I am being given a light duty assignment until I'm taken out for good. (Police officer) once I got out on short term disability I can use the disability as well as two of my days a week and keep my pay at 100% when I get out on fmla I will have enough time for 10 weeks and the next two weeks are no pay.. I think your time depends on of you are using it straight or actually getting disability. Just like me, once you're out, your out. It's all on your dime.
