my boyfriend & labels

Okay I know this is silly , but I've been with the same man for 8 months now and we are deeply in love , there is absolutely no doubt about that . But he is really big with labels, he hates them. He won't call me his girlfriend , only babe and baby and sweet things like that. His last relationship didn't end very well, she lit all of his things on fire and was physically attacking him and all kinda of crazy stuff . She was just doing it because he didn't want to be with her anymore. When him and I met, they were still together but we stayed strictly friends for a week and we finally hung out and spent a night just talking and getting to know each other. No cheating ever happened . She of course thinks otherwise now but we honestly just hung out and that next day he went home and left her & for good. ( they were only together for 6 months) I had no idea he was gonna do that honestly and he didn't leave her for me either, he left because he simply wasn't happy anymore and him seeing me and knowing me showed him that he actually could be happy.  And our relationship has just blossomed since then. He is the love of my life but I am scared bc he won't claim me. It makes me feel unwanted , am I overthinking it? Should I not worry about a title? I need others people's opinions. His actions and everything make it absolutely clear how he feels about me though , he feels as I do towards him. Please help , I'm sorry it's so long haha
