What do I do now?

I got engaged on 10/26/16 and just picked my date to be 7/7/17. What should I start doing now? Is it too early to do things? I'm so lost with all this wedding planning stuff!!

I found it easier to find a venue first before you find your date because the venue of your dreams might be booked on that day

Definitely book ur venue ASAP bc if u fall in love with a venue that doesn't have ur date open then ull either compromise on venue or date. Then get ur dress. Dresses take 6-9 months to order. They can be in faster if u rush ship or use certain designers. But some designers like Maggie Sottero and Pronovias can run towards the full 9 months. Then bridesmaids dresses bc those can take 3-4 months. Photographers, videographers, photo booth, etc book as early as possible. There's not really such a thing as "too early" but there's def such a thing as too late.

Venue and photographer seem to book the furthest in advance. But i saw you posted you only plan on about 10 people, so it would be helpful to provide advice to you if you updated your original post to include a few details as to what you envision.

No way. Get started now! A lot of places get booked 6+ months in advance. Look at websites like the knot to give you a good time frame on when you need to do things.

I would get started. At least start looking at venues! Some of them can book up 6 months to a year in advance depending on the place. Also you can start gettting quotes from caterers to help you figure out your wedding budget and how many people you can invite.

Venue, I was surprised how quickly they were booked! You can start planning but don't need to set the other things in stone for some time. Dress depending where you go can take a while mine took 6 weeks to come in but some places can takes closer to 4 months. When I got my dress they actually gave you a planner timeline thing of when to start getting what done.
