how many naps and when?

How many naps are your LOs taking now? What time do they nap? What is bedtime and wake time in the morning? My nurse recommended getting on a two nap schedule and having bedtime at 8 and we are currently starting bedtime at 7 so she's out at 730ish. It seems hard to keep her up until bedtime if she has a terrible afternoon nap but I suppose if we make these changes, it may work. Can't find anything about nap specifics on the Academy of Pediatrics site. Thanks!

My son will wake up between 5-7 am for a bottle then goes back to sleep til about 9 then about every two to three hours he takes a nap then generally around 8:30-9:30 he will go to bed for the night.

My son goes to bed anywhere between 6:30 and 8 PM. He sometimes sleeps through the night, sometimes wakes up for his pacifier or to nurse. Most of the time, he's up between 4:45 and 6, but he's slept until like 7 before. There really is no rhyme or reason to his nighttime, so I try not to pay too much attention to patterns there.

After he wakes up, he nurses. We lay in bed and read books or talk or play, and he nurses again. Then we go out into our backroom where we spend the majority of our time and he plays while I get his breakfast ready. He eats and then might play some more and then he usually wants a quick nap. All of this takes up about 3 hours of time at the most.

When he wakes up, we play and then he usually nurses after that and often will fall asleep again. When he's up, it's time for lunch. After he eats, we play or whatever and he'll nurse and nap for the third time. He's up before dinner, has dinner, takes a bath, we read books and play in bed, he nurses and then he goes down.

His naps are usually not very substantial...maybe 30 minutes each. Sometimes the afternoon nap will be a little longer if we do something fun or outside in the fresh air.

I'm not trying to sleep train or anything because I'd rather fit into his little schedule than have him fit into mine. I have the luxury of being able to do that since I own a business, but if I had to get up and head to work, I'm sure it would be very different.

My son, and this is only over the last week so it may be a fluke, has gone to bed at 6.30 and slept until 7-7.30am with one feed at around 1am.

He then has a nap at 9.30 which tends to be for half an hour, then a nap at 12 which tends to be for 1-1.5 hours then he will nap at around 3 for half an hour. So in total it's about 12-13 hours night sleep and 2 hours nap time.

I don't allow a nap after 4pm and if I do I move his bed time later to compensate. I'm not 100% strict as life gets in the way of even the best routine but in my eyes he's learning so much lately he needs the rest. Plus he is teething and I would rather he slept through it rather than screaming awake all day x

My almost 7 month old has bath at 6 or 6:30 and usually asleep by 7.

He wakes once at around 4am to eat, then back to sleep till 7.

He morning naps are around 9:30 for 1.5 to 2 hrs.

His afternoon nap is usually in between 1:30 to 2:30.  Time varies for that one but usually around 1 hr.

My pediatrician recommended two naps, but my baby clearly needs three and all the books I've read that it's still developmentally normal to have three naps at this age. She goes down for her first nap around 9 and sleeps till about 10:30. I put her down for the second nap at about 12:15 and she usually sleeps till about 1:30. Her last nap is at 3:30 (or whenever two hours after she woke up is) and usually lasts about an hour. We put her to bed at 7:30 at night and she usually sleeps till about 6:30 or 7 the next morning with one or two wakings in the night to eat. My pediatrician also said that she shouldn't need to eat in the middle of the night, but it doesn't bother me to get up with her and at least one of the books I've read said that 1-2 nighttime wakings is normal prior to 9 months. You are your baby's parent and you spend more time with your baby than a doctor or a nurse does. I think disregarding their advice over matters like naps and bedtimes isn't going to do any harm.

Bed time is at 7 just because there's literally no way to keep her up longer. She's up to nurse around 11, 2, 4:30, 5:30 and then up for good around 6:30-7.

She naps once or twice a day each time for a half hour to an hour. We can't get her to sleep longer.

My daughter wakes up between 7:00-7:30. She has her 1st nap at 9:30, second one at 13:30. These normally last around 1:15-1:30 each. Her last nap at around 17:30 is usually short, we tend to keep it at 30 mins max. Bedtime is at 20:30-21:00. She wakes up between 4 and 6 am for a feed. 
I did try to remove that last nap a few weeks ago, but she was miserable and I wasn't ready to have her going to bed earlier/waking up earlier, so for now we're all happy with 3 naps at 7 months :)

My baby goes to sleep around 8-9pm and wakes up between 8-9am. She wakes and nurses all night as needed. We bedshare so it's easy and I don't keep track of feeds as I just snooze and snuggle through them.

As of two weeks ago, she dropped her third nap (after several weeks of struggling). She goes to sleep around 11am and again around 3 or 4 depending on the length of the first nap. She sleeps a total of 3 - 3.5 hours per day between the two naps.
