So, I have a friend who has two kids she just got custody of her first, and she just had her second. She keeps asking me to watch her kids, and I told her today I won't watch either one anymore. The baby is sweet, but when I visit her and bring my son, she expects me to tend to him so she can drink and be stupid with all her guy friends (whom she invites over) Which I gladly do because it isn't the baby's fault. But once I told her to watch my son while I peed, mind you it was 1pm she wasn't drunk and I wipe and hear my son screaming crying. My son fell out of the crib. And she was nowhere in the room with him. ( the room is literally next to the bathroom I was gone maybe a minute) So I went off on her and haven't went over since. But now she keeps trying to get me to watch her children at my house. Her oldest son has zero respect for anyone not even her because he grew up knowing she was a party girl and that she was his mom but he had a Foster mom who basically enforced this idea within him that she wasn't respectable. She hasn't even been a custodial parent 6 months yet. But she keeps leaning on me. And I'm sick of it. I feel like I'm too nice. I feel like she thinks I'm being a bad friend, but what about me? I don't ask ANYONE to watch my son. He's MY RESPONSIBILITY, that's how I look at it. Am I wrong for telling her I won't watch them anymore?
