I think it happens to a lot of dads. My husband still gets irritable when my daughter cries. She 15 months. You just need to remove the child from the situation or him. Tell him to take a breath and it'll be ok. Just give him a break from it if he needs it.

Omg yes!!!! I feel this is my fiancée completely. He has changed totally since the baby got here And doesn't spend time with either of us anymore. Also has excuses for never being home or when it comes time to help! I think he has PP, he doesn't even look at his baby I hate it

This is a good topic! My hubby is definitely not depressed, but it is a LOT harder on him the  it is on me to deal with an inconsolable baby. Our son is 3 weeks & hes just developed a slight mommy preference. Additionally, I feel like I am very instinctual with the way I soothe our son & he is more scientific. If he reads something online to soothe baby, he'll try it even if its pretty clear from the start it frustrates our baby.

I try to help him notice baby's subtle cues that can help him soothe more effectively. I also remind him that babies are programmed to be most soothed/attached to their moms. But teenagers are basically wired to hate their mothers, so his shining days as favorite parent will come, just later! :)
