Is it awkward/inappropriate when people touch and rub your belly?

To me it is strange, depending on the person. Especially someone I don't know well. It was extremely awkward when I was first pregnant (6 weeks) but didn't have a super flat stomach to begin with and I had someone come up and say oh my god look at that bump! Then rub it. It was so awkward.

It doesn't bother me when it's a family member or a close friend but this girl I work with always does it and it's super weird. What mostly bothers me is that she starts rubbing it THEN says "can I rub it?" I say "well you might as well cause you're already doing it." Lol

I'm okay with people I know but this stranger at the movie theatre tried to touch my belly. When she reached out, my reflex was to cross my arms...at least I have evasive maneuvers for when it happens again...lol

I don't know what it is about being pregnant that makes people throw personal boundaries out the window. They don't go around reaching for non-pregnant stranger's bellies, now do they?

I'm on my third pregnancy and it's never really bothered me. It's usually old ladies just trying to be nice. And if it's family I don't mind at all.

I had a coworker who never had children, and she would run up to me in the hallway and have entire conversations with me while touching my stomach. One such conversation went as such:

"I can feel a little foot!"
"No, you feel my abs..."

This is how I feel espically with my husbands family, they do it everytime I see them and all i want to do is punch them in the face.

My mom rubbed mine twice yesterday, it was SO weird. But she's my mom and has already said it will be a frequent thing for her. Now a stranger...I already told my husband I absolutely will slap their hand. That's just not welcome for me.

It is strange. Lol. Thankfully not to many people rubbed my belly. I was actually 10 weeks pregnant, and my uncles girlfriend came up, placed her hand on my stomach,claiming to feel my daughter kick /: she was drunk, so I just went with it to make her feel better lol.

Ugh I'm dreading people touching me without permission. I'm 21 weeks and only showing a bit so it hasn't happened yet but I feel like I may have to be firm with some people about how much I HATE touching!! The only people allowed to touch are my husband and my parents (since they made me I feel it's only fair)
